In case a rejection of a submittal occurs, a contractor is obliged to amend it and re-submit on the basis of comments provided by a reviewer. Rejection will mean that the offered item is not matching the specifications or the design requirements. This will slow down the project unless it is put under check. This is important because the contractor has to communicate within the shortest time possible with suppliers and manufacturers in order to adjust and resubmit so as to impose minimum interference on the project schedule.
